Icing

Updated: Jan 13

At Anderson Orthopedic, they carry and recommend cryotherapy machines. You could buy one for $200 or rent one for $150. I bought one, but in hindsight, I probably wouldn't do it again.

I recovered from surgery alone, apart from the first 2 days while I my best friend was taking care of me. She flew in from Chicago to take me to surgery and help me out that weekend. The cryotherapy machine was great while she was there because she was able to manage filling it with ice and water, connecting the cables and attaching it to my shoulder. When she gone? I couldn't do anything with it.

If you have help - totally splurge on a cryotherapy machine

If you don't have help - You're better off with what I call an Ice Towel, pictured from Amazon below.
